Celebrating sunny days and our wonderful son

It's been years since my last update much has changed.

Sarah and I met in 2015, married in Seattle in 2018, relocated to Spain the next year, and welcomed baby Adrián in late 2020.

More on Sarah and Andrew:

We're quite smitten with our soon-to-be-toddler. He is inquisitive, cheery, and eminently huggable. He likes putting things in jars and taking them out, pointing at dogs on the street, eating fruit, napping with his parents, and going down the slide headfirst at the playground.

We have done a couple photo shoots with young Adrián. Here are the results:

Professionally, I'm now working for Cisco Systems after spending 5 years at Deloitte Digital. Deloitte sponsored our relocation to Spain for a project with an EU institution. I work with a US team at Cisco and they don't know -- I mean, they don't mind -- that I work from Spain.

We live in Alicante, about 2 hours south of Valencia city and 5 hours south of Barcelona. We are right in the city center, across from the Mercado Central and a 10-minute walk to the beach. It's a good gig.

Alicante provides a great travel platform in spite of the pandemic. We have visited France, Portugal, Germany, Finland, and Gibraltar with other destinations in the works. To quench my thirst for live sports, we have witnessed Roland Garros 2019, the tennis Davis Cup, and various UEFA Champions League matches.

In sadder news, the last few years have seen the departure from this life of my grandfathers Morton Ceaser and Bill Pollen, Sarah's grandma Ida Shimizu, and the legendary cat Cobi, who achieved his lifelong dream (we think) of sniffing the Mediterranean.

Below is the holiday card we sent to a few friends and family this year, in case you did not receive it.
