Life update from Seattle in Q&A format

Hello friends,

Two years ago I wrote to tell you of my arrival to Seattle. I remain here, triumphant and defiant, and today I am drafting this email on the architect table (which is made for drafting) in my new home. Yes, very exciting. Here's an unsolicited life update in Q&A format.

Q: You own a home?
A: Yeah, man. It's easy. I live in the Columbia City area of Seattle, an ethnically diverse, up-and-coming area. You can check out photos in my AirBnB listing for the guest bedroom.

Q: What is AirBnB?
A: Google can answer that. I will tell you that running an AirBnB has been a rewarding and moneymaking enterprise. Generally my guests stay 2-3 nights. Mostly they are from California, or Germany. Germans are clamoring en masse to visit Seattle.

Q: Why did you leave Barcelona?
A: I just felt like I had completed the end of a cycle, especially when the managing partner of the consulting firm I was interviewing with there told me that if he was in my shoes he would come back to the US. I'm glad I heeded his warning because that company has since downsized and been absorbed by its parent company.

Q: Are you going back to Barcelona?
A: Not in the near future, but you should check out this Kickstarter campaign for a project my MBA team worked on.

Q: What do you actually do at Revel Consulting?
A: Business process optimization. This is a manufacturing domain that has translated to software and improves user experience. In addition to process optimization I function as a business analyst. Somehow I've gained a lot of knowledge about software development.

Q: Does it rain all the time in Seattle?
A: Common misconception - it never rains. Well, sometimes it rains. Actually: usually. But it's a slow kind of rain instead of a downpour. And there are often sunbreaks.

Q: What is there to do in Seattle besides look at the rain and drink coffee?
A: I like to hike, rock climb, and practice improv comedy. More serious practitioners camp, summit mountains, get tattoos, and grow beards.

Q: Why aren't you married?
A: My dating life the last couple years has been a frustrating soap opera. I'm on the dating sites and absurd situations have transpired. But I'm hopeful; I know I'm a catch even if a bunch of girls who love to laugh and watch Netflix marathons haven't realized yet.

Q: How is Morton Ceaser doing?
A: My grandfather is still kickin' it but slowing down unfortunately (at age 89) due to a long battle with diabetes. At my last meeting with him he urged me to get involved in politics. He's very worried about the world and hopes someone can save it. Let that be a motivating cry to all of you.

Cheers and feel free to reply in kind.
