Movember update

Hello, friends. Here is some info that chronicles my recent beans. I'm sorry this is generic, but hopefully you will respect my honesty in admitting so and not begrudge my lack of time to tailor to each recipient.

 
I am studying an MBA at Esade in Barcelona. Hopefully this is not news to any of you. I have applied to some interesting jobs for the summer. I will tell you:
- Management consulting with all the big management consulting firms, bla bla bla
- Product development and strategy with Samsung in Texas. All my stupid Microsoft experience might finally come in handy!
- Market research with J&J in Ft Washington, PA. This is a very scary opportunity because the job is EXACTLY what we did at Rosetta (meaning I am highly qualified, in my humble opinion) AND it's in the town next to where my parents live (meaning I would have come all the way to Barcelona just to go back to where I started)
- Strategy with ebay and Amazon. I don't know if I care about e-commerce strategy but their businesses are interesting.
 
I have three SEPARATE cover letters for each of counsulting, marketing, and healthcare. I'm not sure if I'm trying to get one job or simply demonstrate an above-average fit for every single job. Soon, I will apply to business journalism internships with The Economist, the Financial Times, the Dow Jones, etc. This is what I really want to do but it's the least defined path. Should out to Carlos Colomer (copied here, everyone say hi to Carlos) for giving me the Dow Jones Madrid bureau chief.
 
I won a case competition yesterday with my work group! The client was a beer in Kenya. We were the only group to do one critical price per volume calculation and present a projected P&L. The P&L was all air but they ate it up, they didn't even ask why our product costs went down almost 35%!! The prize was 2 flight vouchers for Vueling.
 
Tomorrow I have a 3rd date with an English/South African girl. If I marry her (just a hypothetical, not something I'm actively planning) we would have an unprecedented access to continents.
 
Barcelona is lovely, when I get the chance to see it. Still in the mid 50's, even 60's, except when it rains.  I can now bench press 165 pounds, which is roughly 20 more than I weigh. Booya!

2023/2024: productive years

2023 and 2024 were productive years. To start, we bought a home and obtained permanent residence in Spain. We now live in an urbanization with a pool, near public transit and schools. It was hard to leave the center of Alicante which played host to important memories when Adrián was a baby, but we traded up. Our second child, Claudia, was born in September 2024. Adrián (now 4) started full-time preschool in the fall of 2023 and adapted well despite being one of the youngest in his class. He's an inquisitive boy who believes Peppa Pig accompanies him on his adventures and who is very much oblivious to everything outside his imagination. He enjoys popsicles, new toys, trampolines, and slides. He is developing a sense of humor and has an infectious laugh. Happy 40th birthday, Sarah!

Sarah recently turned 40. We celebrated with a bouncy house and enormous paella, as the Spanish do. Ahead of the occasion, Sarah's friends submitted tribute videos wishing her well. I compiled these into a  highlight reel . The project highlighted the impact Sarah makes on people and the affection her friends and family have for her, often despite time and distance. Celebrating sunny days and our wonderful son

It's been years since my last update much has changed. Sarah and I met in 2015, married in Seattle in 2018, relocated to Spain the next year, and welcomed baby Adrián in late 2020.  More on Sarah and Andrew: Photos of our courtship and wedding Video slideshow that played at our wedding (Password: July 14) We're quite smitten with our soon-to-be-toddler. He is inquisitive, cheery, and eminently huggable. He likes putting things in jars and taking them out, pointing at dogs on the street, eating fruit, napping with his parents, and going down the slide headfirst at the playground. We have done a couple photo shoots with young Adrián.
